Murr, Germany – Following the successful launch of the WeissKlang L1, the German microphone manufacturer now presents its successor: the WeissKlang L1 Plus.
This new large-diaphragm condenser microphone not only delivers the high- resolution sound reproduction that made the L1 so popular, but also intro- duces, for the first time, switchable polar patterns (cardioid, omnidirectional, figure-8) – significantly expanding its versatility in professional studio environments.
Precision in detail – Made in Germany
At the heart of the L1 Plus is the newly developed, dual-diaphragm WMK-1D capsule, based on the proven design of the original WMK-1. It offers a transparent, high-resolution sound with a presence boost around 10–11 kHz – now enhanced by acoustically consistent pattern switching without phase instability or tonal compromise.
The combination of a transformerless circuit, hand-selected discrete compo- nents, and an ultra-low self-noise of just 4 dB(A) enables highly detailed recordings with wide dynamic range and precise transient response (14 μs attack time).

Despite its slim form factor, the L1 Plus is a fully equipped studio microphone, engineered for maximum versatility in a minimal format. Its accessible, mechanically defined toggle switch allows for fast and confident switching between polar patterns, making it ideal for vocals, speech, room ambience, stereo techniques (Mid/Side, Blumlein), and even field recording.
Included is the custom MA-L shockmount, designed to deliver up to 20 dB of low-frequency isolation depending on the selected pattern – ensuring clean recordings even in challenging environments.
