As Part of Their Long Standing Relationship, Warm Audio Recently Provided The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences with a Number of New Microphones, Preamps, Compressors, and Other Equipment for CRAS Students to Train On


Gilbert, Ariz., Nov. 16, 2023 – In order to be best prepared for a career in professional audio, one needs to learn on and train with the leading gear they are going to encounter and use in top studios throughout the world.

As such, The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences (CRAS; www.cras.edu), the premier institution for audio engineering education, is proud to announce that it is outfitting many of its main studios in its Tempe and Gilbert, Ariz. campuses with a host of new Warm Audio gear.

“Warm Audio and CRAS share the same dedication to analog gear as key to a student’s success,” explained Bryce Young, Warm Audio President and Founder. “In a world of digital simulation, access to discrete analog hardware helps students understand how audio actually behaves, step-by-step in a signal chain. CRAS aims to provide students with hands-on experience with the latest audio technologies and with Warm Audio gear, not only will they be learning, experimenting, and creating with real analog equipment built with high-quality components, but they will become familiar with the sounds, features and creativity of some of music’s most legendary sounds.”

Warm Audio has recently provided the following equipment for CRAS: WA76 Discrete FET compressors; WA-412 preamps; EQP-WA all-analog tube equalizers; WA273-EQ preamps; WA73 preamps; WA-84 small-diaphragm condenser mics; WA-14 large-diaphragm mics; WA-87 large-diaphragm mics; WA-251 tube condenser mics; WA-DI-P Passive Direct Boxes; and WA-DI-A Active Direct Boxes.

The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences is composed of two nearby campuses in Gilbert and Tempe, Ariz. A CRAS education includes broadcast audio, live sound, film and TV audio, music, and video game audio, all taught by award-winning instructors who have all excelled in their individual fields, including sound reinforcement, audio recording and production, digital recording, troubleshooting/maintenance, and music business.

CRAS structured programs and highly qualified teaching staff provide a professional and supportive atmosphere, which is complemented by its small class sizes allowing for individual instruction and assistance for students in engineering audio recordings. CRAS has been providing quality vocational training in audio recording for more than three decades. The curriculum and equipment are constantly being updated to keep pace with the rapid advancements in the music and sound recording industries. CRAS’ course offerings and subject matter have always centered around the skills and knowledge necessary for students’ success in the audio recording industries.

The 11-month program is designed to allow every student access to learn and train in all of the Conservatory’s studios which are comprised with state-of-the-art audio recording and mixing gear, the same equipment used in today’s finest studios and remote broadcast facilities, including Pro Tools 12, API Legacy consoles, SSL AWS consoles, Studer Vista consoles, and much more. All students must complete a 280-hour industry internship to graduate from the Master Recording Program II that may ultimately lead to industry employment.
