STEREO DREAM MACHINE
Synthx V is an expertly-crafted software synthesizer that resurrects the legendary ELKA SYNTHEX for the modern era.
_Same Dual architecture
_Versatile DCOs with Ring Mod & Pulse Width Cross-Modulation
_Renowned CEM 3320 Multimode filer
_Cherished Chorus
Going above and beyond the original design, Synthx V adds faithful enhancements alongside an infinitely creative suite of advanced features
_Born in the 80’s ,conceived by a single mind.
Crafted by Italian engineer Mario Maggi, inspired by era-defining synths like the Prophet 5. Maggi spent 12 years developing the Synthex, combining boutique components and artisanal design to create a truly unique and iconic instrument.
_One of the greatest sounding polysynths of all time
Renowned for its clear and powerful, straight-DCO sound and unbeatably wide panoramic image.
_Beloved by the greats
The Synthex was embraced by famous artists such as Jean-Michel Jarre, Stevie Wonder, and Depeche Mode, enhancing its legendary status across various genres.
Synthx V mirrors the bi-timbral magnificence of the all-in-one 80’s classic, from its clean and powerful DCO’s to the famed multimode filter.
_Bi-timbral beast
While each voice is quite simple and clean, when combined as layer A & B, they offer an expansive sound design playground for complex, evolving sounds that are easy to program.
_DCO perfection
Two digitally controlled oscillators providing stability and precision while maintaining a lush, warm and characterful analog sound.
_Multimode filter
We recreated the legendary high-pass filter – as well as including a new low-pass mode that lay dormant in the original circuitry.
_Advanced sonic treatment
With a one-of-a-kind geometric multi-arp, as the successor of the original 4-track sequencer, a 4-slot FX rack, 3 modulator slots with an easy drag-and-drop modulation system, and expressive keyboard customisation like MPE and Polyphonic Aftertouch…
_ADVANCED PANEL
_Multi-Arp
Featuring four independent arpeggiators, this powerful module lets you create complex, hypnotic patterns. Quick presets offer instant results, while deeper tweaking unlocks dynamic rhythmic control across layers.
_Effects
Shape and process the Synthx V sound with 4 effects slots and up to 17 powerful effects to choose from – from expansive reverb to denaturing distortion and superwide unison.
_Modulator slot
Access in-depth modulation that rewards imaginative routing and patterning. Or add assignable ADSR envelopes to have even greater dynamic control of your signal path.
_Macros
Edit macros easily with the new option window and link them to multiple parameters. Keyboard sources, including MPE Slide, enhance expressivity for greater control.
_10 Cool Things to have fun with
_Layer
Sounds with different characters in DUO mode, like a pad and keys, to create playable, expressive, evolving soundscapes. _Widen A layer using Spread to distribute voices in the stereo field. Use Spread together with the Unison setting for massive mono basses! _Link Both layers in Stereo Link mode, to give your sound depth and a real sense of space. This mode will duplicate your selected layer onto the other, and hard-pan them. Then use the Vintage knob (and the hidden Dispersion panel) to create small variations on all voices.
_A Chorus of voices
A beautiful chorus effect that can add gentle movement, like a slow rotary speaker (Chorus 1), a deeper choral texture (Chorus 2) or a thick, ensemble-like sound (Chorus 3).
_Transform your sounds
With the Multi-Effects, adding depth, texture, and motion—perfect for achieving a polished, mastering-ready finish. Choose and stack up to four effects and re-arrange your FX Chain using simple drag and drop.
_Assign modulators
Multipurpose Functions, Additional Envelopes, and advanced Step & Random modulations, to pretty much any parameter on the interface with a simple drag-&-drop from the modstrip, and open yourself to a world of infinite sound-design possibilities. Extra points for modulating a modulator!
_Arpeggiate sounds
Like never before! The Multi-Arp lets you layer up to four independent arpeggiators, each with its own sequence, rhythm, and note settings, so you can create melodic, generative sequences, that truly respond to your playing. With transpositions, remember to use the Scale feature to bring harmony to the chaos.
_Even more Arpeggiation possibilities
With the Multi-Arp, you can send each part to one or both layers independently, allowing you to play some chords with a lush pad on one layer, and then arpeggiate the twinkling keys of the other. In Stereo Link mode, you can send each Arp to either the Left, Right or both Stereo channels, as you wish.
_Put a Ring Mod on it
Ring Mod combines the waveforms of both oscillators, creating richer, more complex waveforms. Select it on Oscillator 1, then turn the Octave and Transpose parameters on Oscillator 2. Set Oscillator 1 to a triangular wave for bell-like tones or a sawtooth/square wave for inharmonic, harsh textures.
_More Cross Modulation
Both oscillators feature PWM Cross-modulation. By enabling it, the pulse width of one oscillator is modulated by the opposing oscillator, generating rich harmonic variations.Apply it to Oscillator 1, then slightly detune Oscillator 2, or apply gentle modulation, to create subtle, organic variations that add depth without overwhelming the sound (you can use ctrl+click to set transpose more precisely).
