New Flagship Line Array Systems Add to Already Extensive Inventory of Meyer Sound Loudspeakers

POOLgroup, one of Europe’s leading event production companies, has geared up for a healthy post-pandemic environment by having made a substantial investment in new Meyer Sound self-powered loudspeakers…including nearly 200 of Meyer Sound’s new flagship, the PANTHER™ large-format linear line array loudspeakers. With this addition to the company’s existing Meyer Sound inventory, the investment has enabled POOLgroup to supply world-class audio production for the largest events while streamlining logistics and lowering end costs.

The new purchase encompassed 192 PANTHER loudspeakers, 166 1100-LFC™ low-frequency control elements, 82 LEOPARD® compact linear line array loudspeakers, and 20 Galileo® GALAXY Network Platforms.

“We certainly have an impressive amount of high-quality loudspeaker technology,” says Carl Cordier, one of POOLgroup’s two managing partners. “We believe, much like a craftsman, that the quality of the materials affects the outcome, but must be coupled with expertise and quality service.”

POOLgroup, under its original name of Westfalen Sound, has been using Meyer Sound systems since 2005. “We have a very high level of trust in Meyer Sound,” Cordier continues. “Meyer Sound’s expertise extends from basic research to the fine details of manufacturing. But in the end, it’s a commercial consideration. We have always produced a solid return on our investments in their products.”

As for the rationale behind the major investment in PANTHER, Cordier cites the exceptional power-to-weight ratio, the compact size, and the inherent advantages of self-powered systems in audio performance. “These are not just sonic advantages but also clear advantages in event logistics,” he says.

POOLgroup is a wide-ranging event production company with a diverse client base in the entertainment, political and corporate markets. They are ready to supply complete production services for essentially any event… of any size.

“We are an extremely broad-based company,” states POOLgroup’s Director of Marketing and Communications, Oliver Ohrndorf. “What sets us apart is that our size and expertise enable us to simultaneously implement a wide variety of projects in completely different market sectors.”

Having the augmented inventory of loudspeakers will allow flexibility to meet increasing demand across the board, particularly during the busy festival season. “We typically serve at least seven festivals. With that kind of commitment, when coupled with tours and corporate events, it can be difficult to meet all our equipment requirements,” says Ohrndorf. “While in the past it was possible to rent equipment over a long period of time, today’s market no longer reliably provides this option. With this new acquisition, we are now in an even better position to take on the European legs of major world tours, backed by appropriate logistics with our own trucks and highly skilled crews.”

Meyer Sound systems from POOLgroup have supported tours by artists such as Volbeat and David Guetta as well as the World Club Dome, Parookaville, and KPOP.FLEX festivals. Corporate clients served by POOLgroup include BMW Group, Samsung, and Deutsche Telekom, while governmental events include the G20 and G7 summit meetings.

POOLgroup is headquartered at Emsdetten in northwest Germany, with additional offices in Berlin, Munich, and Stuttgart.
