Gilbert, Ariz., July 9, 2024 – The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences (CRAS; www.cras.edu), the premier institution for audio engineering education, is proud to welcome iconic music recording engineer/producer Sylvia Massy for its upcoming CRAS LIVE event on July 10 at 7:00pm PST. The CRAS LIVE event will be streamed on YouTube.

“To have Sylvia participate in CRAS LIVE will be an incredible experience for our students,” said Kirt Hamm, CRAS administrator. “Sylvia has participated in sessions with our students in the past, and you could see them hanging on her every word…they didn’t want to miss a thing she had to say. We can’t thank her enough for her time and her desire to share her knowledge and wisdom with all of us. Our students will take this experience with them throughout their entire careers.”

Massy (www.sylviamassy.com) is known for her unconventional recording techniques and is the author of the book “Recording Unhinged”. She has worked with Tool, Prince, System of a Down, Johnny Cash, and more.

“Gaining real-world knowledge and asking questions of someone with the stature of Sylvia Massy is invaluable,” Hamm concluded.
