CRAS graduates continue to represent at the 61st Annual Grammy® Awards.

The Conservatory of Recording Arts & Sciences (CRAS; www.cras.edu), the premier institution for audio engineering education, is proud to announce that 34 CRAS graduates worked on 36 Grammy-nominated albums and songs across 33 categories. The 61st Annual Grammy Awards show is scheduled for Sunday, Feb. 10 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

“This has become a highlight each and every year for us…it never gets old,” said Kirt Hamm, CRAS administrator. “Year in and year out, CRAS graduates make a name for themselves and solidify their positions in the industry that they love during the Grammy Awards, and this year’s 61st annual event is no different. We are very proud of each and every one of our graduates. All of our nominated-graduates, as well as all of our graduates that are living their dream in this business are fine examples of where hard work and dedication can take you.”

Last year, seven CRAS grads worked on multiple 2018 Grammy Award-winning nominations by numerous artists, including David Davis (pictured above), being recognized for his in-depth work on the Grammy-nominated album War and Leisure, by Miguel, for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Davis was involved with engineering, mixing, bass programming, drums and guitar on the album. He is also being recognized for his engineering on the Grammy-nominated song “Remember Me” from the movie COCO.

In 2017, 12 CRAS grads worked on 11 2017 Grammy Award-winning nominations.

The 11-month program is designed to allow every student access to learn and train in all of the Conservatory’s studios which are comprised with state-of-the-art audio recording and mixing gear, the same equipment used in today’s finest studios and remote broadcast facilities, including Pro Tools 12, API Legacy consoles, SSL AWS consoles, Studer Vista consoles, and much more. All students must complete a 280-hour industry internship to graduate from the Master Recording Program II that may ultimately lead to industry employment.
