Production Notes & Credits:
"Utopia" is a "metal" instrumental track, written, performed, and recorded by Romain.

Recording: Man, somewhere out there is a movie just waiting for Romain's creepy/spooky composition! Cinematic is an apt word to describe "Utopia", and Romain has shown some excellent arranging skills bringing the piece to life.
As for the sound sources, they fall into what we often term a "demo"-category recording. By that we mean that the parts are well thought out and presented, but lack the big-budget sounds that would be present if indeed the song were to land a high profile spot. This is by no means a knock on Romain's efforts; there are more than a few high quality sounds here including the synths, but few would argue that live drums, among other things, would be a substantial upgrade.
That said, Romain's arranging skills receive an A grade from us, and ultimately this may prove to be the most beneficial long-term tool in his recording arsenal... since it's not something you can get by pressing a button on a machine! (See Sven Seaholm's Fade Out in our April 2014 issue for more on offering services that can't be replaced by machines.)
Suggestions: Most if not all of us work within a set of limitations in our studios. Whether it be gear challenges, access to players, less than ideal acoustic spaces, or a lack of experience, we nevertheless strive to do our best. Very few of us have the ideal set of circumstances, but that's life, folks. And as they say, when you're handed lemons, you make lemonade. Romain has developed a cool sound with his music, and we hope he continues to pursue it!
Summary: A soundtrack in search of a movie.
