Mac running Apple Logic Studio; AKG C414, Shure SM57; Audio-Technica headphones; 1979 Fender Stratocaster (maple neck), 1990 Gibson Les Paul, 1995 Martin DC0016 acoustic guitar, Orange AD30 amp.
Rewind" is a female vocal pop/rock tune. Chantelle wrote the tune, played some guitar parts and sang the vocals. The rest of the band was Jade Masters on drums, Roy Martinez on bass, and Rob Agostini, who played the guitar and also produced the track.
We really liked the way that each individual instrument is given its own frequency range to occupy: deep kick, bright acoustic guitar, and rich but articulate bass. The backing vocals and electric guitars are nicely panned in order to keep that critical lead vocal clear and present, and everyone played with a sensitivity that fits the singer and the song. Our only complaint is that we don't know anything about how the drums were miked; it's a masterful job.
Suggestions: Our suggestions in this case are for those of you reading along and listening to this track. Namely: Arrangements, arrangements, arrangements! Pay attention out there, loyal readers, this is how it's done!
Summary: Love it!
