Production Notes & Credits:
Rewind" is a female vocal pop/rock tune. Chantelle wrote the tune, played some guitar parts and sang the vocals. The rest of the band was Jade Masters on drums, Roy Martinez on bass, and Rob Agostini, who played the guitar and also produced the track.

Recording: This month's Spotlight is a great mellow groove tune that showcases a killer vocal recording and the arrangements that help it weave it's spell. Starting with said vocal, for years we have extolled the virtues of a quiet close miked vocal performance as a way to achieve a big, present vocal recording, and Chantelle and Rob have provided a perfect example of it here. Even though the vocal is often no more than a whisper, it is never swallowed up or masked by the additional sound sources.
We really liked the way that each individual instrument is given its own frequency range to occupy: deep kick, bright acoustic guitar, and rich but articulate bass. The backing vocals and electric guitars are nicely panned in order to keep that critical lead vocal clear and present, and everyone played with a sensitivity that fits the singer and the song. Our only complaint is that we don't know anything about how the drums were miked; it's a masterful job.
