Quote of the Day

“When somebody really puts themselves out there, then you can’t help but respond from the heart, and that is what we value so much in music...It’s funny that all of this recording technology, from our standpoint, exists just to take away some of the curtains between the music and the listener.”- Tuck Andress of Tuck & Patti

Production Notes & Credits:

“Without You” is a male vocal rock song. David co-wrote, played the keyboards and mixed/mastered the track. Mark co-wrote and handled the drums, bass, guitar and vocals. From the information attached to the song file, they apparently call their duo Search For George. David explains: “We write all of our songs collaboratively after playing in a band (search for george) together for 7+ years. Now that we live several thousand miles away and can’t write together physically as often as we used to, we record our parts and send them to each other via our own FTP site.”

We would like to start out this month’s Spotlight by thanking David and Mark for providing us with an excellent aural example of a good many of the areas that we cover in our Readers’ Tapes Review column every month.

Looking for a great example of “ room ambience”? Well, look no further. These are among the best sounding drums we have heard, with ambience to die for. How ‘bout a shining example of a rich, round bass tone that works perfectly alongside the kick drum? Yep, that’s here too. Now throw in excellent song writing, a spacious keyboard and electric guitar, alongside the intimate lead vocal, and voila! Dinner is served.

Summary: Tasty!!
