Quote of the Day

“That first song on your demo is like a radio hit: you want to hook the listener in the first ten seconds, interest him/her more in the next ten seconds, and if you can really hold them through the first minute they might listen to your whole tape.”- John Simon

February/March/April 2013 - Big Money Drums
Audio content for this series on huge rock drum sounds
By Michael Schulze

The Audio content for the 3-part series Big Money Drums can be found here.

We are going to be placing links to two ZIP files. One is for the 320 kbps MP3 examples quoted in the article; it's about 53 MB in size. The other contains the MP3s as well as complete Pro Tools session data and uncompressed WAV files that you can play with; that one is about 324 MB in size.

In addition, there are individual links to the ten MP3 files mentioned above, so you can audition them one at a time. Warning: these are big MP3s, from 6 to 8 MB each, so if you have a slow connection, I'd recommend grabbing and unpacking the ZIP file instead.

Note that the names given on the files are not exactly as they are given in the article; you should be able to figure out which goes with what. If you have any questions, you can email Michael Schulze at schulze@recordingmag.com and he'll be able to help you out.
