Downloadable update offers several reasons for existing customers to purchase upgrades

Minneapolis, July 12, 2012 - MakeMusic, Inc. (NASDAQ: MMUS) today announced the release of Finale 2012b, a free, downloadable update for all owners of Finale 2012, the world standard in music notation software. Broader in scope than previous free updates, this release also includes new features that offer additional motivation for existing customers to upgrade.

Features new to 2012b include automatic range checking, a new Finale Lyric font to improve legibility of lyrics (even on tablet devices), the ability to export EPUB-compatible files (viewable on most tablet devices) and more. Finale 2012b also contains dozens of refinements that directly address both recent and long-standing customer requests.

"Finale 2012b features the most-requested enhancements from our users," said Justin Phillips, MakeMusic senior product manager. "As the world leader in notation products for nearly 25 years, MakeMusic continues to listen to customers and provide timely updates to the Finale family of products. Customers who take advantage of these upgrades are provided with free telephone and online support which further demonstrate MakeMusic's powerful commitment to help artists realize their dreams to create and share music."
