More Than $50,000 in Prizes Featuring Computer Systems Based on Intel Core, Cakewalk SONAR Producer Software, V-Studio 100 & V-Studio 20, and Much More!
BOSTON, MA, (July 1, 2010) - Cakewalk, the world's leading developer of powerful and easy to use products for music creation and recording, Intel Corporation, and the preeminent online community-powered, new music discovery site, OurStage.com, have come together to launch another exciting competition for songwriters and music producers.
The "Superstars" songwriting competition invites artists to submit original music in six music genres: Rock, Pop, Country, Singer-Songwriter, Urban, and Latin.
The submitted tracks will be judged by fans of Intel's Facebook page with 31 prizes—five winners from each genre and one Grand Prize—to be awarded.
More than $50,000 in prize packages will be available, including Intel Core-processor based computers, Cakewalk SONAR Producer Software, V-Studio 100 & V-Studio 20 recording solutions, and promotion to the millions of OurStage.com and Intel fans.
The Grand Prize is $10,000 cash that can be used to record an album, tour the country, fix up the band van, pay the rent, or anything else a "Superstar" would need.
Entrance in the "Superstars" competition is free but is limited to residents of the United States. Submissions may be created using any recording solution. Musicians and fans without recording software can download a fully-functioning 30-day trial version of SONAR Producer.
The competition opens for Pop, Rock and Country on July 1 and runs through August 31, 2010 (song submission deadline is August 22).
Entrants can submit an original song at http://www.facebook.com/intel.
The next three genres for competition—Singer-Songwriter, Urban and Latin—will begin September 1 and run through October 31, 2010 (with a submission deadline of October 22).
After the genre programs complete, the Top 5 in each genre competition will receive prize packs. Additionally, the Top 20 of every music format will also roll into a Grand Prize competition with details to be announced shortly.
