Quote of the Day

“In the late ’60s and ’70s, the room had to be shaped. People would spend fortunes on making the actual room a certain shape, all the audio-dynamical shapes. I think architects made a fortune in that ten-year period. It didn’t do much for the music; you know, music is either happening or it’s not.”- Jon Anderson of Yes

scrub (audio term)

The action of moving tape back and forth across a playback head, to find an exact spot in the audio. Scrubbing on a DAW’s computer screen is done similarly, with the mouse, moving back and forth through a portion of an audio waveform display—to find optimal locations for editing.
