Our Good Friend Jon Bare Rocks Las Vegas

Do you like good news? See too much doom and gloom and not enough cool stuff wherever you look? Not around here—at RECORDING we like cool stuff and good news, especially this, from our longstanding friend and contributor Jon Bare (author of "Recording The Electric Guitar—It's All About Tone"—available in the Shop section of this website) who just sent us this piece of news:

Hi friends and family,

Last Friday (5/8/09) I had the good fortune to play at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas in my Woodstock tribute show / band "1969." We played two one-hour sets on their very cool stage by the pool - nicest stage, biggest PA and light show that I've ever had for a show - the place was packed and the crowd was very enthusiastic... to say the least. It was a good show.

"1969" is the brainchild of drummer Terry Brent who has been preparing this show for two years. This year is the 40th anniversary of Woodstock and our tribute show rocks. We got...

Janis Joplin

Jimi Hendrix

Keith Moon

John Fogerty (me)

Arlo Guthrie

There is more, and there are pictures that we can't bring you here, no doubt Jon will display them soon on his website

Rock on, Jon!
